Niacinamide
Vitamin B3, also known as niacinamide, is known for its excellent brightening properties in skincare products. It helps to reduce hyperpigmentation (age spots, pimple marks, sun damage), dark circles under the eyes and facial redness. Hyperpigmentation can be genetic, but it can also be triggered by external factors like excess UV exposure that lead to an overproduction of melanin - the pigment that gives skin its color. Vitamin B3 inhibits melanin buildup and promotes an even-toned complexion. Furthermore, it works to strengthen the skin barrier, protects the skin from moisture loss and boosts collagen production, thus helping to slow the natural process of skin aging.
