FACIAL EXFOLIATORS Physical, Enzymatic & Chemical Peels

If you want to maximize the effectiveness of your skincare routine, exfoliating is just as important as cleansing and moisturizing. It is the best to deep clean your pores, get rid of dead skin cells and improve the efficacy of other products and their beneficial ingredients by enabling faster and deeper penetration. Regular exfoliation can also diminish the look of wrinkles and visibly improve skin texture, dull skin and blemish-prone skin.

There are numerous types of exfoliants on the skincare market – developed for different skin types and needs. These include physical scrubs, enzymatic exfoliators and chemical peels such as AHA products.

How do I find the right exfoliator?

Finde jetzt das passende Peeling für deine Haut

Yes, regular exfoliation is important. But what it really comes down to is finding the best exfoliator for your skin. Don’t worry, this is actually quite easy if you keep a few things in mind.

Remember that there are three main types of exfoliants: Physical exfoliants, enzyme exfoliators and chemical peels. But exfoliating products can also have different textures. Cream, gel or powder – you decide which exfoliant suits you and your skin best.

1. Enzymatic exfoliation

Enzymatic peels offer gentle exfoliation without abrasive particles. These kinds of exfoliants use enzymes to break down the proteins and lipids attached to dead skin, so they can be easily removed from the surface of the skin. Post-peel, the skin feels incredibly clean and soft.

Our non-abrasive, fragrance-free Enzyme Peel Powder is also very quick and easy to use. Just pour the powder into the palm of your hand, foam it up with some lukewarm water and apply it to the face – done!

Tip: This face exfoliator is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin and oily skin.

2. Physical exfoliation

Mechanical or physical exfoliators are scrubs that contain tiny abrasive particles to exfoliate the skin and get rid of dead cells.

Face scrub

Our gentle exfoliating cream cleanses and nourishes the skin in just one step. Tiny rounded silica beads exfoliate the skin without irritating it. The cream base pampers the skin with extra moisturizing ingredients. Use once or twice a week, massage in circular motions, then rinse off with water.

Tip: This gentle cream exfoliator is particularly beneficial for dry skin.

Body Scrub

When it comes to skincare, we often focus exclusively on the face. Exfoliating peels and scrubs are no exception. Special body scrubs are just what we need, plus they are the ultimate self-care indulgence: Really easy to use under the shower, they smell great and you can enjoy a lovely massage while getting rid of old skin cells and other debris.

Sea salt is a natural exfoliant that is also rich in minerals and trace elements. Additionally, our refreshing Ginger-Sea Salt Body Scrub infuses the skin with a nourishing blend of oils. Use once a week to keep your skin supple and soft!

Tip: This salt & oil scrub is suitable for all skin types.

3. Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliants work by removing the skin’s top layer with exfoliating chemicals like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs). These acid-based facial exfoliators resurface the skin and reveal a smoother, healthier-looking complexion by removing dead skin cells that leave a dull skin tone. Chemical peels can be used on the face and many parts of the body.

Extremely important: After a chemical peel, it is imperative to use broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least 30 SPF to avoid sun damage. Even under your make-up.

AHA Exfoliants

Chemical peels are very suitable for dry and mature skin. A blend of alpha hydroxy acids exfoliates and hydrates the skin.

Our 20% AHA Peel is a chemical peel that you can safely use at home. It also contains antioxidant green algae and hydrating hyaluronic acid to enhance the cosmetic results.

Our 4% AHA exfoliating pads are designed for daily use, thanks to a very mild formulation of glycolic acid, lactic acid and citric acid. They gently remove dead skin cells, moisturize, de-clog pores and leave the skin with a natural glow. This incredibly gentle chemical peel is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

BHA Exfoliants

BHA skin peels with salicylic acid are especially suitable for oily, blemish-prone and acne-prone skin. They penetrate deeper into the skin and clear clogged pores. Our 2% BHA exfoliant improves overall skin texture, on top of removing dead skin cells and other debris. It also contains antioxidant spirulina and allantoin to soothe the skin.

Tip: The BHA peel can also be applied to various body parts other than your face, for example to the back.

PHA Exfoliants

We recommend PHA peels for all skin types, but especiallly sensitive skin prone to redness. They are very gentle, help the skin retain moisture and refine the skin's texture. Our 12% PHA exfoliating gel with brown algae, sea mayweed, linoleic acid and linolenic acid exfoliates dead skin cells and provides a beautiful glow.
