The Gentle Solution to Wrinkles
Citric acid is one of the most common organic acids and occurs in the metabolism of almost all living things.
In 1784, the German-Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele was the first to isolate citric acid from lemon juice, hence the name ‘citric acid’. However, there is a theory that citric acid was discovered in the 9th century by a Persian alchemist named Jābir ibn Hayyān.
In cosmetics, citric acid has an astringent, keratolytic and naturally lightening effect. It also helps accelerate cell regeneration and reduces the depth of wrinkles.
